5 Benefits Gamers Enjoy

Hey, it's me again. Hope you having a nice weekend to begin with  and your day is fine.  If you are not, watch an episode of Friends, that should do the trick. We have been one way insulted or called childish because of our immense love for gaming or comics, some people might go out of their way to tell you stuff like that makes you dumb.  Well am here to prove them wrong.  Today we gonna talk about five advantages of gaming and reading comics which also have the same effect too. So let the battle begin.

5. ABILITY TO MAKE FASTER DECISIONS
We all know someone who seems to have a faster CPU than the rest of us, RAM and even keyboard and mouse. Being able to retrieve information or react in a split second. For some, that ability might be strengthened through gaming. Because new information is constantly being displayed during play, players are forced to adapt quickly. In one study, players who were immersed in fast-paced games were 25 percent faster in reacting to questions about an image they had just seen compared to non-players.(PES and FIFA are games that force you to adapt quickly especially if you losing)

4. PLAYERS  BECOME FASCINATED WITH HISTORY
Many games use actual historical events to drive their stories. Those characters and places can then spark one's interest in knowing more about the culture they’re engross  in, according to researchers. People are even known to collect books ,maps and other resources that are connected to the games thereby spiking their appreciation for history. Video games can be a means of learning for people who use it because it contains different context that can be helpful and as well as being more playful. They are therefore a good means of motivation for anyone who have learning difficulties. Am a fan of shooting games, never joined the military but I can name almost twenty different types of guns just by looking at it and probably tell you how many rounds they contain 😎. In terms of history; Assassin creed,  call of duty:black ops 2 and somehow watch dogs 1 gives you a little bit information about the past. There are other games too, most games have some sort of connection with history,so you can play while  learning.

3. TRAINING AND IMPROVEMENT  OF PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ABILITIES
It has been proven in some studies that if we play video games daily, we can improve our visual attention, be more efficient in changing tasks, be faster in tasks where we have to perform a visual search or discriminate objects by their shape / color. Also among other benefits, it contributes more effectiveness in the follow-up of multiple objectives (Green and Bavelier, 2003). One study has shown dyslexics improved their reading comprehension following sessions of heavy gaming. The reason, researchers believe , is that the games have constant changing surroundings that requires intense focus. They also have positive benefit on older players. Playing "brain / strategy games"  helps increase cognitive function in players of 50 and older, showing improvement that lasted for several years( I know for a fact games like God of War makes you think just to solve a puzzle. Especially the early versions.)

2. ENCOURAGE TEAMWORK
In team games, players will also develop group work skills as they sometimes have to be united to overcome some challenge. In addition, it also allows them to develop other abilities such as quick thinking to act satisfactorily in the face of problems presented to them or even work under pressure to avoid losing the game. Even though gamers are sometimes stigmatized for being introverts, the opposite is actually true. The rise of multi-player experiences online has given way to a new form of socializing in which players work together to achieve a common goal.Which is why am never late to a LAN party and truth be told I do enjoy playing with people than playing alone or with bots. There is the feeling I love when I snipe people from a distance and the players look at me asking why and i respond with a smirk on my face.

1. USE AS LEISURE AND ENTERTAINMENT
We need to get distracted so we do not feel stressed in our day to day activities, or just to fight the daily boredom or the urge to murder someone who pissed you off badly. For this reason, video games are a great means of entertainment because of the large number or realities they present. And it also has that same impact of taking a drug or alcohol minus the hangover and damaged kidney. Am talking about letting you forget your problems or stress for a while after all that's why people drink and get high, the only difference is when you done with the game you still remain sane while the other makes you sleep on your own vomit. Open world's games are perfect, just cruise around the city, killing people if you want or just shopping either way it's all virtual and doesn't leave you in the streets knocked out from your own intoxication.

That's is all we have for today. I didn't list a disadvantage cause I don't see any. I have been a gamer and am surrounded by a community and I haven't really seen any red flag of some sort. So to me there are no disadvantages of gaming.

Till next time, play a game
