The Devil You Know

Hey everyone, Welcome to this lovely day. This past week i got to watch The Daredevil season 3. It was lit , so decided to talk about The season 3 of Daredevil and i promise not to give any spoilers. And with that said, let's begin the journey into the being born again. P.S Born Again is the comic this season is based on (see what i did there and let us give Netflix a round of applause. They are doing wonders with  Marvel series)

After all the success Daredevil Season 1 enjoyed in 2015, it was no surprise Marvel brought it back for a second season, and after almost a year of waiting, it arrived in mid-March of 2016 on Netflix. Just like in Season 1, Matt Murdock was still protecting Hell's Kitchen, but this time around, he also had to contend with the likes of The Punisher (which the Punisher Won by the way), and Elektra Natchios, his former lover, both of whom challenged him both physically and ideologically. As the season wore on, other players emerged from behind the proverbial curtain, with Nobu leading The Hand. But our Devil won the battle, just like how he defeated Wilson Fisk at the end of Season 1, he also emerged victorious at the end of Season 2, though it came with great sacrifice, the death of Elektra.

Daredevil Season 3 , is inspired by the Born Again comic book story line. While the events won't unfold just like they did on the printed page  100 percent,  but we can expect Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, to slowly dismantle our blind hero's life. Judging by the look on his face when we last saw him in Season 2, he knows or will learn that Matt Murdock is Daredevil, making his revenge all the more brutal. Beyond Fisk, there's room to introduce other villains from Daredevil's rogues gallery, such as Bullseye and a host of others.

We all  know Daredevil was put through the ringer in Season 2, and not just by battling bad guys for days on end with multiple injuries and little sleep(The Bruce Wayne of Hell's Kitchen).  Ideologically, he conflicted with Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher, and Elektra Natchios. Both pushed him to kill in the line of duty, with Frank saying it was the only way to make a true difference against crime(i agree) and the latter saying that he needed to welcome the darkness inside of him. While Matt Murdock never went so far as to take a life, he did throw himself even deeper into his vigilante life, so much so that he ruined his personal life. His career as a lawyer was put in jeopardy with his firm Nelson & Murdock collapsing, not only leaving him without a job, but his friendship with Foggy damaged. His focus on Elektra and The Hand also ruined his romantic relationship with Karen Page. By the end of the season, he was left to pick up the pieces of his life, and he started by revealing his secret identity to Karen.

Then came the events of The Defenders(my favorite Series of 2017), where Matt had given up the vigilante life and seemed to be on amicable terms again with Foggy and Karen. Unfortunately for him, his life was thrown into disarray again when he crossed paths with Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Danny Rand, and despite his initial reluctance, Matt became Daredevil again so he could help combat The Hand. But what really threw him for a loop was discovering that his ex-love Elektra Natchios had been resurrected, and he tried his best to reason with her. In The Defenders' final episode, Matt stayed behind with Elektra, still trying to reason with her and showing how much he really cared for her. But his time was cut short due to the explosives he and his allies had set in The Hand's building detonating, leaving the public to believe Matt is dead. It was later revealed that not only had Matt survived, he was being looked after by nuns, one of whom is named Maggie, a name familiar to longtime Daredevil comics fans(and i won't tell you the importance of the name, i promised no spoilers)

From the trailer we can gather he is back and his friends,Foggy and Karen Page are glad to see him. his joyous return doesn't last long as Wilson Fisk is out to get him by doing the one thing that is worse than death; ruining of one's reputation. Wilson hires someone with excellent reflex skills to pose as Daredevil and cause mayhem making the public that once believe in Daredevil now afraid of him and wants him apprehended. From what i can gather , the mask man is  Benjamin Poindexter a.k.a Bullseye, A psychopathic assassin that uses opportunities afforded in his line of work to exercise his homicidal tendencies.(we can expect an awesome fight between Daredevil and Bullseye)

I for one love The Daredevil series since season 1. The fight scenes are well choreograph, the story amazing and there is no one whining about what to do when they only thing they know how to do is run(Am sorry flash fans but he does one thing, so asking what i should do every time can be annoying). Anyway here is the trailer of Daredevil season 3 just in case there is someone out there that hasn't seen it (and yes there will be someone out there )
