Hey it's me again .The guy who tries to give you all the information about Marvel Universe for now though. I have been told that I have been a little selfish of not talking about DC comics too ,but what can I say than i love Marvel a lot and know one or two things about Marvel universe than DC universe. But I hear your plea about making it a blog of both Marvel and DC and all I can say for now is that am working on it .
This week is all about one of the best fictional military force that not only protect earth (in some cases) but also protect the galaxy when help is needed . Ladies and gentlemen I give you the NOVA CORPS .
The Nova Corps was actually created as a space militia for the planet Xandar. It had at that time 500 soldiers ranging in rank from Corpsman to Centurion and its leader Centurion Nova Prime . Unlike other military organization that depends on training and weapons ,Nova Corps depends on The Nova Force. This is what gives the Corps it power to do all the amazing thing they could do (see them as the Jedi of the galaxy )The force ,which is unlimited energy was generated by a living computer called the Xandarian Worldmind .The amount of Nova Force a Nova Corp member can access is determined by their rank .The higher the rank,the more power they can access. It has been observed, in some cases that exposures to the Nova Force can induce madness and mental instability with prolonged exposures to high level . The Nova Forces can also grant the recipient various abilities that could include superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, and perception ,all depending on your rank. It also grants flight at faster than light speed, a healing factor and energy powers and these energy power includes the ability to create an electromagnetic beam or a gravimetric pulse (i don't even know what that is) We have seen in Guardians Of The Galaxy,t hat it can be used to create Star Gates. Also the link to the worldmind also makes it possible for the wearer to access enemy profiles, analyze an attacker's weakness or strengths, interface with computer, and analyze energy signature among many other cool stuff you could do with the Nova Force. And finally we have those who possess not this awesome abilities, but the ability to carry Traditional weapons such as Firearms. Basically all am saying is that you need the Force.
Unfortunately being awesome like this comes with a price of powerful enemies ,The Nova Corps and Xandar has been destroyed three times :once by Nebula ,and once by the alien Zorr and finally by the Annihilation Wave. They also had a costly war with the Skrulls ,during the Skrull's secret invasion of Earth ,which was bloody, they lost a lot of men during that war. It was also the Nova Corp that helped the Avengers stop the Phoenix Force , when she returned to earth in a lead up to the Avengers VS X-Men storyline.
Like any other military organization ,they also have an elite black ops version of the Nova Corps called the Supernovas(AKA The Black Novas).
This is generally the best fictional military force (except the star wars and the Jedi )in the universe and they are really good, they have ended or stopped world destruction on many occasion ,if not for their aid Phoenix force would have done more damage to earth . To summarize I would like to sign up for the Nova corps
