Hey it's me again .This past week, i got to watch Luke cage and I kinda like it. It was nice and cool, although am not a Luke cage fan but I just had to watch it, not because of Luke but because I love anything Marvel and also because of the upcoming Defenders series coming out next year(didn't want to miss any tiny detail), which am gonna talk about now.
The origins of The Defenders started way back ,with heroes such as Dr Strange,Hulk, Namor and eventually Silver Surfer .This were the original heroes who formed The Defenders to occasionally battle mystic and supernatural threat that usually occurs. You could call them The Suicide Squad ,only in their case they are all heroes and they plan to return home. Characters such as Nighthawk,Hellcat,Beast,Valkyrie,Son of Satan,Wolverine,Captain America as well as Luke cage with many other heroes have also played roles in The Defenders often offering their help when needed.The original group that consist of Strange,Hulk,Namor and Silver Surfer didn't last long, as they were forced to abandon the team due to a prophecy ,that states ,if the four of them continue to operate as group,they would bring about the end of the world(which actually happened) . Beast took up the mantle of leadership after the departure of the original four and created a new Defenders with government clearance and member such as Valkyrie ,Gargoyle,Moondragon etc.
There are many versions of The Defenders in the Marvel Universe but am only interested about the one coming to my screen next year that will include Daredevil, Jessica Jones ,Luke cage and Iron Fist(my favorite). It will be a epic superhero team up in the city of New York ,as they fight crimes and save lives. Although currently there is no plot and I still don't know who the super villain will be ,but I know for sure that it would be Legendary plus it's Netflix ,they have never failed me before and they can't start now. Filming is said to start November so am looking forward to teasers and trailers of The Defenders .And am so waiting for Iron Fist series scheduled for March 2017 ,i can only imagine how the fighting skills and techniques will be portrayed in the series,i just know it will be awesome seeing as Daredevil Jessica Jones and Luke cage is also awesome,and bringing all of them together for a miniseries would only make it more awesome (am using awesome a lot ain't i ? )
All am trying to say is that ,2017 will be one heck of a Marvel year for me and I sure can't wait to see The defenders in action. According to the comic, we both know Iron fist and Luke cage are best of pals and later decided to start Heroes For Hire, in which they perform their heroic duties for a price (but a fair price nonetheless) and Jessica Jones is Luke wife(so that makes her hero for hire too automatically). It's reasonable seeing the hero for hire squad being The Defenders of New York but i don't know how Daredevil gets rope into it (which is what i hope to see in the series). Even in the Series, all Hero For Hire Character have met each other, except for Daredevil. So really want to see how the introduction would be like. I still don't know who the main villain will be, but i suspect The Hand might make an entrance of some sort. And the end of Daredevil season 2, sees a Matt that has given up on the vigilante life after loosing his lover Elektra. He now lives a normal life and seeks justice the way he knows how to: the courthouse as a lawyer. So which makes me wonder what could drag him back into the life of no sleep and lot of bruises. Well that is all i have for now.
