Should You Watch The Umbrella Academy ?

Okay, today we diving in straight to business. A business that's weird, huge, little confusing and involves a fifty year old man who looks like a 13 year old boy.  Today we talking about the Umbrella Academy. I know it's totally different from the Marvel and DC and Games that I normally cover but Umbrella comic is bases on a comic and by the law of comic that i am bound to by reading comics, I am meant to comment on comic related series or movies( Even planning on a special episode revolving around Anime live action movies.  Coming soon )

I have been watching the Umbrella Academy on Netflix and it's a show that looks like it has nothing to offer you and yet you still find yourself wanting to watch more. Some period I'm  like what am I watching and the next am like I gotta know more. But everyone who has Watched the show agrees on one thing;the kid in  the series is magnificent. Aidan Gallagher is the main reason I watch the series, I am always waiting to see what he would do next. He is an awesome actor ,really good. That is enough about Nicky,  and let's dive into what The Umbrella Academy is really about.

First of all The Umbrella Academy is an American comic book series created and written by Gerard Way and illustrated by Gabriel Bá. The first six-issue limited series, The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite, was released by Dark Horse Comics, between September 14, 2007, and February 20, 2008 and It won the 2008 Eisner Award for Best Finite Series/Limited Series.
On February 15, 2019 a television adaptation premiered on Netflix. The plot revolves around a dysfunctional family of adopted sibling superheroes who reunite to solve the mystery of their father's death, and the threat of an impending apocalypse that begins in a week. That's  all I can say without giving any form of spoilers but if you don't care you about spoilers then you can watch it or look for spoilers online ( I assure you, you will find plenty). Like I said the film tone is a little sour, but it makes up for it with it's dark humor, good storyline,  stunning visual and good cast (favorite being Aidan Gallagher)

The  main cast of the series includes:

Tom Hopper as Luther /Number One . He is huge due to an accident that made his father do something unorthodox to save his life, making him have an ape like upper body.

David Castaneda as Diego/ Number Two.  Very stubborn and rebellious, his ability is being able to curve the trajectory of anything he throws.

Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison/Number Three. Her ability are dangerous, more deadly than Number 7 to me. She can alter reality with a phrase " I heard a rumor... "

Robert Sheehan as Klaus / Number Four.  A flamboyant and pansexual drug addict with the ability to communicate with the dead.

Aidan Gallagher as Number 5. Never stuck around to get a name, since he mysteriously disappeared. His ability is jumping through space and time and being rude even though he is Number 5. In his defense being stuck in a post apocalyptic world will do that to you

Justin H. Min as Ben  / Number Six . He can possesses monsters from other dimensions under his skin. Ben is deceased but appears regularly to Klaus and helps him occasionally.

Ellen Page as Vanya  / Number Seven. She is Constantly told she has no supernatural abilities and is nothing special, only for her to shock everyone with having an ability that could bring about the end of the world.

The cast of the series are good. Really has a way of pulling you into their stories as an individual and as a family. I can recommend  you watch it . Its really worth your time (I think)

Well that's all I have for now.

Till next time Stay unique

Why Netflix Canceled All Marvel Series

Hey am back again. But this time not happy.  Netflix canceled the Punisher. Which means no more Marvel series on Netflix again(so sad) and here i was blaming  Fox  for always canceling their shows and Netflix proved me wrong.  I decided to do a little digging of my own to find out the reasons why Netflix keep putting this shows to the knife even though they all had positive reviews especially Daredevil.

According to Netflix, one of the reason the partnership of Netflix and Marvel  eventually went up in flames - was the fact that Netflix didn't own a stake in any of the series. Disney always owned them, and Netflix had to pay  a hefty fee to license them. So not only was Netflix shelling out to make 5 expensive shows, it was paying a licensing fee, and reaping little reward from the arrangement.  Disney on the other hand were not breaking down their price too, or even meeting Netflix half way, and this was frustrating. Disney didn't really put much effort in saving this shows, since they are working on their own streaming service now, Disney+, which Disney has poured a huge amount of money that has reach up to a staggering amount of $100 million.  Disney who are currently working on three MCU spin-off shows which are in their various stages of development - Loki, Vision  and Scarlet Witch and Falcon and Winter Soldier - and as if that is not enough, they are also working on  two live-action series from the Star Wars universe( this is the project that cost Disney a $100 million for just ten episodes). Disney definitely won't care much for loose change after loosing Netflix's licensing on its Marvel series. Plus they have an entire roller-coaster of amazing catalog they can choose from.

As sad as it may be, one reason that Netflix's Marvel shows are no longer running is that Netflix finally needed to cut its losses and move on, (thanks to Disney) a decision that can't have been easy considering the Marvel family it had built up over the years, one which had become instrumental in its rise to a huge streaming services it has become.

Another reason could be the significant changes behind the scenes on Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Iron Fist in their tenure on Netflix - show runners left and needed to be replaced, causing "creative issues" that probably would have been a constant source of problems for everyone involved.

So after my little digging, I came to conclusions that Netflix had no choice and no fault. Disney should have given them a pay cut at least as a reward for making such shows become something awesome. But we all know, how this corporate  world behaves,  all they care about is the money(which annoyingly we are giving them, asking them to give us back our moneys worth in return in form of entertainment)

The ball is very much in Disney court  as of now and not in Netflix like i thought a week earlier.  Will they revive the shows?  Or move on?  Or tease us about reviving it  and then kill it before the pilot ?  I guess we just have to wait and see. But one thing is certain, which is i have to find a new series to watch.

I personally hope they bring back all Netflix's Marvel series back and let Netflix stream it(i don't think there is a better home for the Marvel series than Netflix)  I hope they revive Daredevil at least. Hopefully another streaming network will take over from Netflix and revive this shows without sacrificing one creative content for another or for budget.

And that is all I have today for you.

Till next time stay Marvel

Why the punisher Season 2 is good

Hey everyone. How you doing ? How is the weekend going ?  Hope you are having a nice day. Today I'm gonna talk about one of my Top 5 Favorite Marvel character of all time along with it's TV  show.  He is the one Santa sends if you've been naughty, like really naughty. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you The Punisher. I watched season 2 and I liked it. I like the fight, the action,  the shooting, and even the little romance it had. The only thing I didn't like was Jigsaw, that's not the Jigsaw I know. The jigsaw is really horrific in his looks. A perfect example was the Jigsaw in Punisher : War Zone movie (picture is below). I was expecting a really disfigured face of  Ben Barnes Jigsaw,  and being it's Netflix, I was expecting something that would make me throw up. Sadly my hopes of a disfigured Ben Barnes was shot down.  But Aside from that, I think it was good  but then again I'm  a big punisher fan.

I really enjoyed The Punisher season 1. Sure, they made changes to the mythos,  but they were the right changes. In fact, it ended so well, that I didn't care for season 2. I was more than content with Season 1. But the show been so successful among critics and fans alike, made Netflix officially renewed The Punisher for season 2 on December 12. By now I assume we all know that Frank Castle is not a hero, and that’s what makes him such an interesting character for me within the Marvel universe. He simply is what he is: a gun-toting vigilante who uses his Marine skills to find and kill criminals.

The series was intriguing,  because it seemed like the show might actually address the fact that the Punisher is a bit of a poster boy for the alt-right movement. And it does, sort of. The new season nods at Trump’s America, and Russia, and neo-Nazis, and explores what sets Frank apart in his vigilante justice ( made me think about why Trump is always so respective to Putin ) . It also showed what it was like for Frank to be free, no revenge, no killing, just free. Before he was dragged back into the life he left.  I love how it ended with him accepting who he is and not fighting it anymore. The show was good, my only issue was the Jigsaw, but if you can look pass that, then you in for a treat of violence and bloodshed (if that's your thing)

As usual the cast of this season features Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle/The Punisher), Amber Rose Revah (Dinah Madani) and Jason R Moore (Curtis Hoyle) as they are all returning to their roles. Ben Barnes is also back on board as Billy Russo/Jigsaw.
There are newcomers too: Floriana Lima of Supergirl is joining as Krista Dumont, a psychotherapist for military veterans. Giorgia Whigham will play Amy Bendix and Josh Stewart has also joined the crew as John Pilgrim. They all brought a refreshing set of pace to the Series.

Well that's all I have for you today(trying not to say much, before i give spoilers)

Till next time  Be your Frank Castle.

Why You Should Watch Marvel Gifted.

Hey, it's me again. i don't think i have ever said my name before, like officially. Maybe one day i will or you can just scroll down and see. Well enough about me and let's talk about one of Marvel's Tv show i can't stop watching(well i stopped since am done with season 2). Ladies and Gentlemen i give you Gifted. I gotta say, the series is good and it has a way of keeping glued to your seat and wanting more. But don't let my words just convince you. Let my research and fact convince you. So let's begin on this awesome journey.

Firstly, I'd like to give a brief explanation on what FOX's new show The Gifted is really all about. The series mainly focuses on the Struckers, your average, well-off family.  After certain events unfold within the first episode (I won't spoil anything), the parents discover that their children are mutants. Within this world, much like with any other X-title, mutants are feared and hated, so it's not a big surprise when the authorities begin their pursuit of the children for being "Dangerous Mutants."   The parents, Reed (Stephen Moyer) and Kate (Amy Acker) decide that family is the most important thing and decide to flee the authorities to keep their children, Lauren (Natalie Alyn Lind) and Andy (Percy Hynes White), safe. The main antagonists of the series are the agents from "Sentinel Services" (If you think that word sounds familiar, you'd be right,  "Sentinels" are those giant mechanized monstrosities known for claiming hundreds of mutant lives within the comics, movies, and television adaptations).  The show doesn't only focus on the family, as lots of screen time is devoted to a renegade group of mutants who call themselves "The Underground." These people rescue other mutants who are being hunted and give them a safe place to rest their heads. They also have notable heroes from the comics within their ranks such as Polaris, Blink, and Thunderbird(currently my favorite for now)

With that said, here are the reasons you should consider watching Marvel Gifted

1. New Look At The X-Universe

The many comics and graphic novels of this Marvel property have done an amazing job at crafting the larger universe that these characters reside within, but what makes The Gifted stand out from traditional storylines involving mutants and the X-men is that it tries to be divergent, setting an entirely different tone. The show strives to focus on the smaller aspects of a much greater world, this way audiences don't feel like they must pick up a comic book before they can start watching, just so they can follow along with the narrative. The Gifted allows audiences to experience what it's like for the proverbial "little guy" within the X-universe, without the glamour of super heroism or the safe spaces provided by older, insanely rich, philanthropist.

2. Diversity In Cast

I don't think i have seen a series with so much diversity. Definitely gave me an idea or two in my story writing.  In The Gifted’s world, the X-Men are missing and everything are left to a group of underground mutants, trying to fight the government and bring justice for mutants alike. The Gifted introduces us to three fully-realized characters of color with Eclipse, Blink, and Thunderbird, instituting a refreshing change of pace considering how often the people of color were pushed to the margins in the films. (Visualized perhaps most clearly in Days of Future Past, where all the mutants of color were literally locked outside.) The prominent Thunderbird role is particularly notable, not only because Native Americans have the lowest levels of representation in media, but also because his character was killed just three issues after his introduction in the comics. (The creator has promised John will not meet the same fate in The Gifted, and already he has surpassed his comic book counterpart. Which am happy about). One reason X-Men works for me is that there has always been something that no matter who you were, you could find at least one character to identify with(mine being Wolverine). Accepting differences has always been one of the most used and reoccurring themes within the franchise, even with all the super villains and giant killer robots, these heroes strive to improve relations with people and create a better world.

3. The Story

The storyline of The Gifted is amazingly engaging just from the first couple of minutes of the show. You're pulled into their world, and you get to see what some mutants have to experience and how they live and hide just for being different(sounds familiar ?). The show keeps a steady tempo, from the dynamic moments of the underground to the more heartwarming interactions of the Strucker family. I’ve found that there isn’t a dull moment in the program. The audience is either learning interesting facts about the various characters, the world at large, or dealing with any number of threats that seem to constantly pop up for the show's protagonists. The Gifted does an amazing job at delivering a compelling family narrative within an absurdly terrifying world of uncertainty. It engages audiences by fully showcasing the bonds of these individuals and how they view their lives and the world around them.

4. It's the X-Men

The Gifted is still a part of the X-universe, and that alone is huge reason to watch the show. The X-men storylines have been some of the most powerfully written and influential story in the history of comics, and taking just a bit of what made those stories great, is going to be amazing when applied to this show. It retains classic aspects of the comics like discrimination that still resonate in the modern world, while showing how these events are perceived through the eyes of a small family which makes for captivating storytelling. I would highly recommend to anyone that watching The Gifted is a great decision. It airs Mondays at 8 PM Central on Fox. You should really check it out.

With all the Pro the show has, I am worried about one Con, which is the show getting canceled. I am still mourning the Daredevil series that Netflix canceled. Fox is known for starting strong, hooking us in and then smashing not breaking but smashing our hearts by canceling the show. They did it with Sleepy Hollow, Almost Human and Firefly. TV Tropes even have a category on a subpage on it, where it says " Ever since the dawn of the 21st century, Fox has gained a reputation of canceling and/or screwing over an extensive number of television programs for whatever reason, regardless if the show is good or not to critics and audience."  And they are really not exaggerating. Somewhere down the line,  Fox will screw it up. The writing gets weaker, the characters become shells of who they once were, they don't advertise it well and wonder why ratings are low, or they just cancel it and don't provide strong enough reason why. Fox is a bait and switch lover, and I am starting to get tired of falling for it.  So I am cautiously not getting too attached. If Fox too often breaks your heart, you may want to bow out of this one, especially if your heart is still recovering from Daredevil or any show that got canceled.

That is all i have for you today on Gifted. Seriously you should consider watching. For now it's has no wrong and even though Fox will be Fox, that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the Journey at least.

Till next Time stay Gifted

The Titans

Hey, Happy new year. So glad we all made it to 2019. I hope you party so much that you forgot where you parked your car. And hopefully you alright too(forgot to add that part) for real hope you alright(you can't read my blog if you dead😁). Earlier this week, I was able to watch DC Titans for the first time as well as Marvel's Gifted (so much free time and that's why i haven't posted in a while) I gotta say both shows are amazing. I thought they won't be up to expectations but I was wrong. They are both good and have intriguing story lines. Sadly I only have time to talk about one, and after a game of rock paper scissors, DC Titans won. So sit back or stand up, any one you prefer and let's start this awesome work of review that no one is paying  me for.

I Remember when Arrow and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D felt like the chosen shows we all waited for.  It was something new from both Marvel and DC TV shows and for a long time i was hooked on those shows. But that was ages ago, and with the rise of superheros movies, one has to be careful before you waste two hours  of your life watching Black Lightning or worse Cloak and Dagger (Um yes offence). With all the choices out there,  DC Universe's Titans is absolutely worth your time and should be part of everyone's weekly viewing habits. The Titans' first season is something of an origin story, however, the endeavors to differentiate the central foursome are plentiful and successful. The individualistic story of the characters are intriguing. I mean we have the former protege of a Bruce Wayne gone overboard,  Dick Grayson is forever teetering between being a "decent cop" and "near-murderous vigilante" on the see-saw of morality. And we have Rachel Roth, whose parental situation is complexly corrupt at best, and also a teen whose pubescent impulses are literally fueled by demons.  Lacking memories about her identity and past is Kory Anders, an enigma capable of causing mass infernos at will. Then there's Garfield Logan, whose Beast Boy is capable of transforming into other lifeforms, though Titans has mostly limited him to just tiger mode in Season 1

Having a green-tinged shapeshifter will make any group stand out, but it's obviously a lot more than just Beast Boy that makes the Titans so distinct on the small screen. And when they are all together on the screen, you will have goosebumps for sure. The action sequence in the series is worth applauding. I knew I would get interested when I saw an Instagram video of their stunt double doing a fight sequence. It was amazing. it's almost always impressive for these kinds of series to show off just how bad ass their stunt and effects teams are(one of the reasons I loved Arrows before they dialed it down in season 4) With Titans, it's abundantly clear how heavily Warner Bros TV understood that, and that the studio wasn't hesitant to put its money to work.

The CGI is amazing concerning the other three heroes. Their powers put Titans CGI budget to task, and viewers are all the better for it. When Raven's evil comes alive via digital devilry, it's as menacing as anything in a horror movie. When Starfire decides to engulf the world in balls flame, I feel the heat from my screen( that could also be that my phone is over heating). And Beast Boy's cross-species transformations shows how much dedicated time and effort that went into each sequence.

Saving best for last. The Robins. I smiled so much like I was inflicted with Joker laughing gas, when i saw both Robins. It was phenomenal. Usually when it comes to DC's movies, Robin  gets the short end of the vigilante sidekick stick, that is if he is even granted a screen time. Titans remedies that, though, by giving fans two different takes on the classic character. In the middle of the season, Dick Grayson meets his Boy Wonder follow-up, Jason Todd, which wouldn't be all that awkward for the two men if Dick wasn't still pulling out his Robin costume when he needs to beat the hell out of people. So, there's something of a character crisis when Curran Walters  young and supremely brash Jason Todd shows up, partially in awe of meeting his predecessor. That awe is short-lived, though, and it becomes clear that this planet is not big enough for two different Robins.

I also love how Titans doesn't bother itself with taking Raven's frightful side away. Instead, I can be sure that for every 5-10 minutes that Rachel is on the screen, her Raven persona is going to rear its black-eyed head at least once, giving the series a little bit of horror that's just right. With eleven episodes currently available to stream, Titans hits DC Universe every Friday at 12:00 p.m. ET. And it's worth watching. No lazy dialogue, and lot of Easter eggs to DC pop history. It's one heck of a show.

I gotta hand it to DC, they are stepping up their game. If Marvel ain't careful, DC could take over the superhero cinematic universe. I am really impressed.

Till next time my friends  be a TITAN

6 Best LAN Party PC Games

Hey hey hey. It's a new week and to top it off, it is the week of Christmas.  A week of sharing, laughing, being  joyful and happy or it could be a week of shooting your friends, trying to survive a zombie outbreak, building a world for yourself  or destroying one( i try not to judge) Anyway you want. It's a week of togetherness. So I thought I give you games you and your family/ friends could play during the holiday. This games are offline LAN multiplayer meaning all you have to do is create a network, a Wi-Fi hot-spot and let the other members connect. Voila and now we can save those hostages from the terrorist.

  • Company Of  Heroes

We kick of with this game, Company of Heroes.  It is a 2006 real-time strategy video game developed by Relic Entertainment and published by THQ for the Microsoft Windows and mac operating systems. It's a shooting game, in other words you get to kill something. I recommend the game because it is full of action and adventure. In the game you not only get to enjoy real environment of war zone only, but you get to immerse yourself in the  historical setting of WWII. If you desired to play historical games  which are full of action, then Company of Heroes is your game.  And as for the LAN multiplayer, you will probably be better off using the same version of the game in all the PC and avoid patching.  Also always off your antivirus and firewall before playing, you can turn it back on when done. The antivirus prevents the file from opening or worse deleting the executable file.

  • Counter strike : Global Offensive

Come on you know this game was going to be on this list. There is no way you mention LAN based game without Counter Strike. Counter Strike Global Offensive is a first person shooter game that has been developed by Valve Corporation and Hidden path Entertainment. It is the fourth game of the world acclaimed Counter Strike. Global Offensive like all the previous releases of Counter Strike is an objective base game. In the game , the player has a choice to either choose to be on a terrorist team or anti-terrorist team. Then, you complete different objectives that come in your way by killing your enemies. There are numerous short rounds in this game which are completed once all the enemies are killed and the objective is completed. The game since its inception has been racking up kills in the being one of the most played LAN based game. And yes it is worth it.  And to set it up, ensure that Counter Strike Global Offensive is already installed on all computers involved( like I said before)  The computers must be connected to the same network, and the game should be set to go through the Windows firewall. You can reconfigure your firewall settings by going to the Control Panel  > Firewall and selecting Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall. Now
Launch Counter Strike Global Offensive and click Options > Game Settings > Enable the Developer Console.
On the computer you'd like to use as a LAN server, click Play > Offline with bots. Next, launch a game, open the console, and type the following command: sv_lan 1.
Your server is now ready. You can retrieve its IP address (whi
Your server is now ready. You can retrieve its IP address (which will allow the other players to connect to it) by typing in the status command and looking for a line similar to udp/ip : 192.168.0.103:27015.
And voila you can now kill that terrorist which happens to be your brother too.

  • Minecraft

This is the game I was referring to when I said you could build a world or destroy one. In this game you can build anything , I have seen people build houses that are so beautiful that I want to pack my things and live in them.  I think Architects should  use this game to learn, just saying. The game can be played either using a PC or your phone(i prefer the phone) Generally the game is all about staying alive and building defense against the night creatures. But more emphasis on the building and you have to get the materials from mining hence Minecraft.  I actually like the game, it's simple yet boundless. Don't let it's  2D graphic fool you, this game has a way of keeping you glued to the screen in it's own creative way. The only limit is your imagination and probably your character dying from hunger (yes you can die from lack of food).  Like all multiplayer game, connect all device to a single hot-spot and play. Pretty easy.

  • Left For Dead

If you are into horror and Zombie mashed together into one, then this game is for you. The  game is made up of four players, where you pick from the four characters in the game. It has various choice of weapons and mode of transportation. The aim of the game is to survive till the end of the level and then moving on to the next level. The game is fun to play and I like the fact that you get to have actual people(well game character being Controlled by actual people)  have your back and you guys need to work together to make it to the checkpoint. The story of the game Left 4 Dead is that there is a very dangerous virus that attacked a country and a large number of people are infected with the virus. This virus damage the cells of the human body. So now the government of the country decided to give the task  of saving the city to  the player and his team, to try and control this virus and help the infected people. In this game player can also use many types of weapons(like i said earlier) first when player starts the game he can also use only pistol. But when you proceed to the higher levels of the game, you get  to find more weapons. The multiplayer in this case can be split screen.

  • Call of duty 4 :Modern Warfare

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward  and published by Activision. An installment in the Call of Duty series, it was released in November 2007 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows. To be honest, this is my favorite LAN based game. I have played this game a lot both campaign and LAN. I love the simplicity of setting the LAN, just click multiplayer and that's it. The rest is basically simple and can be figured out within seconds. And to prove my point, I won't tell you how to set it and yet you will know how to. It's that simple(provided you are connected to same network and all that requirement for a LAN based game)  there is no limit of how many people can join, so if you want the whole family including your grandma to play, then Call of Duty is your game. Just click multiplayer and then create (if you creating)  and then a server is created and everyone can join the game including the one that created the server. I love the game play and story line, always get sucked in whenever i start the game. Though MW3  is also awesome with LAN but i face difficulties sometimes setting it  up which is why i vote for this.

  • Battlefield 2 :Project Reality

Project Reality (PR) is a modification for the retail Battlefield 2 multiplayer PC game. Project Reality's aim is to create a more realistic combat environment than standard Battlefield 2, and place a greater emphasis on teamwork and cooperation. I love Battlefield too and i like what they did with this. They made the multiplayer more better and more realistic than  the original multiplayer in Battlefield 2 game. The way to set it up is to create a Single  player account when you first install in the game, then click on the multiplayer tab, host a local game and choose Co-op game play mode. The rest go to multiplayer tab and click on join local to find your game and join. BF2 ver 1.4 is recommended as the Commander AI is botched past BF2 ver 1.5. Project Reality has to be launched through it's own .exe.  All the bot supported mods are worth 2 player fun. I highly recommended using AIX 2.0 primarily, it was built with bots in mind and has AI enhancements (among other additions) that really enhance the offline experience. To keep it fun you want to load the right amount of AI for the map you play to populate the map, according to your desired style.

And that is all i have for today, i hope i helped with this few games, and yes i know most of the game here are shooting games. There are other games out there that you could play with friends and family. If you into Strategy you could check out
  • Supreme Commander
  • Age of civilization
  • Total Rome
And we also have Blur, NFS:MW (for nostalgic purposes) etc. They are much but i prefer this list to the rest, because even non gamers couldn't resist the urge to play COD LAN, it was just too much fun to pass away.

It doesn't matter what game you play as long as you get to enjoy beating the other person or just enjoying the game play, you are good to go. Christmas is all about being with family and spending quality time with them. And i think a little round of CS:GO or COD will bring the family closer.

Till next time merry Xmas and have fun with family.

Everything You Need To Know About Captain Marvel

Hey hey hey!  Welcome to a new week. Last week was something. A release of both Avengers and Captain Marvel trailer. I don't know about you but  I was psyched. I can't wait to see the movie next year (thank God it's almost January) So today it's going to be about The First Lady of Marvel Universe. I am gonna let you in on everything I know so far about the Captain Marvel movie.  So sit back or stand and read on.

Before I start with the movie, I decided to give a little history and nuggets about the character from the comic book point of view(after all that's what the movie is based on) . Carol Susan Jane Danvers is a fictional superhero published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gene Colan, Danvers first appeared as an officer in the United States Air Force and a colleague of the  Kree superhero Mar-Vell in Marvel Super-Heroes #13 (March 1968)Danvers later became Ms. Marvel #1 (cover-dated January 1977) after her DNA was fused with Mar-Vell's during an explosion, giving her superhuman powers. Debuting in the Silver Age of comics, the character was featured in a self-titled series in the late 1970s before becoming associated with the superhero teams the Avengers and the X-Men.

The character has also been known as Binary, Warbird and Captain Marvel at various points in her history, she was first Ms Marvel before she inherited the title of Captain Marvel from her predecessors. She has been labeled "Marvel's biggest female hero", and "quite possibly Marvel's mightiest Avenger" ( sorry Hulk and Thor, you both lost that title when you couldn't beat Thanos ) Her abilities(which are much and insanely awesome) as Captain Marvel includes superhuman strength, endurance, stamina, flight, physical durability, a limited precognitive "sixth sense", and a perfectly amalgamated human/Kree physiology that rendered her resistant to most toxins and poisons.  She can also tap into the energy of a "white hole", allowing full control and manipulation of stellar energies, and therefore control over heat, the electromagneticspectrum and gravity. She also can perforem light speed travel and possess the ability to survive in the vacuum of space. She is known to also fly at roughly six times the speed of sound.

That should be enough from the comic book now let's move to the movies.

The strong Captain Marvel  character will be played by Academy Award winner Brie Larson, as she  joins  the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2019’s Captain Marvel. We get to see  her in the title role, as well as in the role of the cosmic hero’s alter ago, Carol Danvers. Captain Marvel is directed by Mississippi Grind filmmakers Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. The film is set in the 1990s and explores the powerful hero’s adventures in the time before Captain America and Iron Man came to prominence. It should be noted that in all the comics, Captain Marvel has been an ally and teammate to The Avengers over the years. Avengers : End game could be the start of that alliance between Captain Marvel and The Avengers.

The latest trailer for  Captain Marvel  debuted December 3, and offers up even more scenes from the movie featuring Larson flying high as the powerful hero. Previously, the first trailer for Captain Marvel was released September 18, and provided the first footage from the film, as well as a preview of its tone and ’90s setting — with the latter firmly established by a shot of Larson’s character crashing into a Blockbuster video store.

Captain Marvel Trailer

Also appearing in the movie are returning characters Korath (Djimon Hounsou) and Ronan (Lee Pace, the guy who lost a dance battle to Star lord) from Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as new characters played by Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, and Clark Gregg returning as SHIELD Agent Phil coulson. Mendelsohn plays the Skrull villain of the film that Captain Marvel battles. The  movie is set in the 1990s and features Samuel L. Jackson as a younger Nick Fury (when he still had two eyes) as they try to battle and save earth from the shape-changing aliens known as Skrulls.
The fourth Avengers movie unfolds in the wake of Avengers: Infinity War and is confirmed to feature Captain Marvel in a key role. That film will hit theaters a month after Captain Marvel, in April 2019.
Although Fans of the character have noted that Larson’s costume doesn’t appear to have the same red, yellow, and blue color scheme that Captain Marvel often appears in, but the first trailer for the film confirmed that she’ll do variations of the costume in both color schemes.

I for one am glad about the movie, I personally like the idea of the movie been done in the 90's. Honestly I don't know much about her compared to other characters in the Marvel universe, but I know Marvel will find a way to make me love the character(its what they do) . I am expecting to see a very young Tony Stark in the movie or an avenger in his/her youth, maybe a fight between two characters. Who knows ? Any way, am in a state of euphoria for the movie, and can't wait to see it on the big screens, TV screen and my phone screen.

Well that's all I have for you today, hope you had a great read.

Till next time don't fight a war, end one. Even though technically you have to fight to end one.

Everything You Need To Know About Aquaman

Hey, it'se again,  how is everyone ? I want to officially say welcome to the new month. We made it to a new month and not just any month but the last month of the year and the month Aquaman is set to debut on our big screens. So today am gonna tell you everything you need to know about the aquaman movie in hope of preparing you (and me)  for the movie. Hajime

DC Comics lord of the seas is getting his own solo feature in 2018’s Aquaman. And my beloved Jason Momoa will reprise his superhero role from 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and 2017’s Justice League  for the film.  So far early reviews of the movie offers only positive reviews( even the negative review has some sort of positivity in it)  which makes me optimistic about the movie’s arrival. The movie is directed by  Insidious  and Furious 7 filmmaker James Wan. The movie Aquaman follows Arthur Curry (Momoa) as he is forced to reconcile his loyalties to the surface world with his role in the undersea kingdom of Atlantis, which has become increasingly hostile to the humans polluting the oceans. The film has a cast that includes Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren, and Nicole Kidman.

With Aquaman hitting theaters December 21, 2018 (guess it will be the Christmas movie of the year) here is everything I know about the movie so far. The first screenings of Aquaman in late November offered plenty of reasons for fans to give thanks, with the film earning high praise from critics in attendance. Although official reviews were embargoed until closer to the film’s release date, there was no shortage of positive reviews to be found on social media ( and believe me I did not see any negative reviews) Fandango’s Erik Davis called Aquaman a “big, sprawling visual spectacle that is gorgeous, crazy, stuffed with terrific action, and a lot of fun to watch.” So did a lot of other critics which I don't care to mention.

WB released the “final” trailer for Aquaman ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend (possibly in the hopes of giving eager fans plenty of time to discuss it over dinner) And there was plenty to talk about in the trailer too, which offered quite a bit more visual-effects footage and even gave audiences their first, extended look at Willem Dafoe’s character in the film.

New Trailer of Aquaman

Warner Bros. Pictures will also give Amazon Prime subscribers a chance to see  Aquaman a week before the movie’s official U.S. release date. The offer lets members purchase up to 10 tickets for December 15 screenings of the film at more than 1,000 theaters around the country, across AMC, Regal, and other major theater chains. Aquaman director James Wan announced that the film had officially finished post-production on Sunday, November 4, with a post on Instagram. “After two years of consuming and devouring my every waking hour, this little indie movie is finally done,” wrote the filmmaker. “It was a monster undertaking. I can’t THANK enough the amazing post team of VFX/editorial/sound for working tirelessly around the clock — crazy-long days, 7 days a week, for many many many weeks without a day off — towards making this a unique and beautiful film. Everyone poured their heart and soul into it, and I can’t wait to share this 21st December! In the meantime, I’m gonna go take a really long nap now.”  Wow two years, I hope it's good as the time spent in the movie but then again it's Jason Momoa, he is good in everything.

Just over six months before Aquaman hits theaters, Entertainment Weekly revealed a set of photos from the set of the film featuring Momoa’s Aquaman, as well as several other characters being glimpsed for the first time. Among the photos was the first look at Abdul-Mateen as David Hyde, the character who will become the aquatic villain Black Manta, gazing at the film’s version of Manta’s helmet.

Another photo featured Momoa’s Aquaman facing off with Wilson’s Orm, Aquaman’s half-brother and the film’s primary antagonist. This was the first look at Wilson as Orm.

I remember at one point in Justice League, Aquaman interacts with Mera after an undersea battle with the villain Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds). Before they speak to each other, Mera uses her powers to create a pocket of air around them and make conversation possible. And I was shocked, I was like he breathes underwater why create a space for air ? Being a marvel fan more, I thought I was just being a DC hater, only for me to find out later that even DC  fans hated that too.  It caused some intense debate among fans. This prompted some fans to wonder whether such an air bubble would need to be created every time anyone has a line of dialogue in Aquaman. This  necessitated  a response from the  Aquaman director himself "Fret not, no ‘air bubbles for dialogue’ in my underwater world,” Wan wrote on Twitter. How the filmmaker will present undersea conversation in Aquaman remains a mystery, but apparently, we now have confirmation on how it won’t be handled. Filming on Aquaman officially ended October 21, 2017, after a five-month shoot that began in May 2017. Most of the film was shot in Australia, with significant amounts of footage shot at Village Roadshow Studios in Gold Coast, Queensland.

Now to the other side of the movie that makes you want to watch, after all, A hero is as good as his Villain. Reports indicate that Aquaman will feature multiple villains challenging the film’s titular hero for control of the seas.

The first among them to be cast was Watchmen and The Conjuring actor Patrick Wilson, who joined the film in December 2016 in the role of Orm, the half-brother of Arthur Curry. Orm is better known to comics fans as the villain Ocean Master, a brilliant, powerful member of Atlantean royalty who frequently attempts to take control of Atlantis by any means necessary.
A few months later, actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was cast in the role of David Hyde, the villain who goes by the name of Black Manta in the DC Comics universe. A vicious treasure hunter and mercenary, Black Manta has proven to be one of Aquaman’s deadliest foes despite being a human. He wears a high-tech suit that gives him powerful abilities underwater, along with a massive helmet that contains an array of sensors and weapons that rival Aquaman’s own natural abilities.
As if that wasn’t enough for Aquaman to handle, Rocky IV and The Expendables actor Dolph Lundgren was added to the cast in April 2017. Dolphin is no stranger to playing comic book characters thanks to starring roles in 1989’s The Punisher, Lundgren is expected to play King Nereus in the film. Nereus is described in the casting report as the leader of the aquatic kingdom of Xebel, and “claims Mera as his own and wants to kill Aquaman.” Nereus has roots in Aquaman’s comic book adventures, too, having debuted in a 2013 issue of DC’s Aquaman series.

And helping our hero Aquaman realize his true potential will be the help of his friends and family. Starting with Academy Award winner Kidman. She was cast in the role of Aquaman’s mother, Atlanna, in February 2017. In the DC Comics universe, Atlanna was Atlantean royalty who fled the undersea kingdom and fell in love with a human lighthouse keeper. Their child’s unique genetic makeup gave him powerful abilities, and he eventually became the superhero known as Aquaman. And
Playing Aquaman’s father, Thomas Curry, will be Attack of the Clones actor Morrison. In Aquaman’s comics continuity, Thomas Curry was responsible for teaching Arthur Curry to handle his powerful abilities at a young age and keep them hidden from humanity. Oscar-nominated Spider-Man and Platoon actor Willem Dafoe is also reported to have a role in Aquaman as Vulko, the adviser to the Atlantean royal family. Dafoe was initially expected to make his debut as the character in Justice League, but his scene was cut from the final version of the film. And saving the best for the last is The Atlantean queen, Mera, played by Amber Heared who has become almost as prominent a character as Aquaman in the DC Comics universe in recent years, thanks to her water-controlling “hydrokinetic” powers and telepathic abilities.

Additional supporting cast members include Power Rangers actor Ludi Lin as the leader of the “Men-of-War,” a specialized strike force in the Atlantean army, and actor Michael as father of BlackManta father.

Well that is all I have for you today.  I am excited to actually see it, I hear it's 3hrs long, that time frame is enough for me to want to see it.  I know it will be awesome, maybe this will be the movie that might usher a new wave of DC movie universe in a way I have never seen before. Then again I say maybe

Till next time be a king

5 Best Comic Book Creators Of All Time

Hey good day to you too. Hope you having a great day. This week (if not month)  has been all about Stan Lee and his accomplishments. The more I read about him, the more I respected him. But he wasn't the only awesome creator that existed, they are many.  So today am going to give you the 5 best comic creators of all time. Let the countdown begin.

5 Frank Miller

I didn't even know I was a Frank Miller fan until I found out he was responsible for some of the best stuff I have ever watched or read such as Daredevil, The Dark Knight , Sin city , Ronin, 300(my favorite), Batman: year one and so on.  Born January 27, 1957 , Frank Miller is a comic book writer, novelist, inker, screenwriter, film director, and producer best known for his comic book stories. He grew up a  comics book fan; a letter he wrote to Marvel Comics was published in THE CAT #3 April 1973.That being said, what set Frank apart from the rest (aside from being alive)  is the way he infused the use of film noir and manga influence in his comic art Creation especially in Sin City, the way everything is in black and white leaving just few characters with a sharp colour to make them distinctive.  It is brilliant, I don't think I have seen any comic book writer use film noir the way Frank Miller uses it. He has brought huge success to both Marvel comics and DC comics, he single-handedly made Daredevil what it is today as well brought about the darker theme( using the Dark Knight) we all know today in comics. This guy is a living legend.

4 Bob Kane

This is the co-creator of one of the most popular character on planet Earth; Batman. Robert Kane born October 24, 1915 – November 3, 1998 was an American comic book writer and artist who co-created, with Bill Finger, the DC Comics character Batman.  It all began on a cold day in early 1939, DC's success with the seminal superhero Superman in Action Comics prompted editors to scramble for more of such heroes. In response, Bob Kane conceived "the Bat-Man" idea. His influence was the movie zorro(i knew I had seen that face somewhere before)  Leonardo Da Vinci ornithopter, a flying machine with huge bat-like wings and a movie The bat whisper. Even though he had the idea, he didn't know how to implement it correctly,  his first draft was more of a well dressed Tarzan that got bit by a bat and turned into a Bat-zarn;which might not be as awesome as you think. Luckily that was when Bill Finger walked in and decided to do a total makeover, giving the character a gray and black color instead of the original bright red, a cape instead of wings, adding gloves and leaving the mask's eyeholes blank to connote mystery. And that was how Batman was born.  They both created other characters too in the Gotham universe such as The penguin, Two face, Cat woman, Scarecrow and the one and only Joker( which was based on an actual joker playing card and a movie)  Bob Kane didn't have much character like other comic book artist but the one he has still remains The best in whole of comic book universe.

3 Jerry Siegel

He created the most popular character on the universe. A character more popular than the Beatles and Hitler combined. Born October 17, 1914 – January 28, 1996, Jerry was a comic book writer noted for his famous creation of Superman, which he created in collaboration with his friend Joe Shuster. The two met in high school and since then, been friends. Siegel and Shuster had been developing Superman since 1933, hoping to sell it as a newspaper comic-strip. But after years of fruitless soliciting to the syndicates, Siegel and Shuster agreed to publish Superman in a comic book. In March 1938, they sold all rights to Superman to the comic-book publisher Detective Comics, Inc. Another forerunner of DC, for $130. Siegel and Shuster later regretted their decision to sell Superman after it became an astonishing success. DC Comics now owned the character and reaped the royalties. Nevertheless, DC Comics retained Siegel and Shuster as the principal writer and artist for the Superman comics, and they were well-paid because they were popular with the readers. Just like Bob and Bill,  Siegel and Shuster only had one character that was a huge success which was Superman and a boy version of him which was Superboy. He didn't only work with DC Comics, he worked for other comic company like Marvel Comics, Archie Comics and one time for Disney.

2 Stan Lee

Come on you should know he would be on this list , he changed comic book way of thinking from being the conventional  superhero cliche type to being an actual superhero, showing what it means to be one and what you give up when being one.  Born December 28, 1922 – November 12, 2018, he was a comic book  writer, editor, and publisher who was active from the 1940s to the 2010s. He rose through the ranks of a family-run business to become Marvel Comic's primary creative leader for two decades, leading its expansion from a small division of a publishing house to a multimedia corporation that dominated the comics industry. His characters are much and equally successful, having collaboration with others at Marvel—particularly co-writer/artists Jack Kirby and  Steve Ditko. He co-created numerous popular fictional characters, including superheroes Spiderman, the X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Black Phanter, Daredevil, Doctor Strange and Ant-Man(the list does go on) . In doing so, he pioneered a more naturalistic approach to writing superhero comics in the 1960s, and in the 70's he challenged the restrictions of the Comics Code Authority leading to changes in its policies allowing for more freedom for writers and artist. In the 1980s he pursued development of Marvel properties in other media. And even after his retirement from Marvel in the 90s, he remained a public figurehead for the company, and frequently made Cameo appearance in movies based on Marvel characters(everyone favorite) . Stan was a legend and will forever be missed. Excelsior Stan.( P. S to know more about him check my last post )

1 Jack Kirby

I have ton of respect for Jack kirby,  he was the Stan Lee of his period(if I may say so) His works are amazing, it's like he has the Midas touch, everything he does or is involved with becomes a colossal success. He created Captain America with writer-editor Joe Simon, Fantastic Four with Stan Lee, the Hulk, the Fourth World, X-Men, the Avengers with Stan Lee and so on.  He was and still is a legend. Born August 28, 1917 – February 6, 1994, he was a comic book artist, writer, and editor, widely regarded as one of the medium's major innovators and one of its most prolific and influential creators of all time. He grew up in New York City, and learned to draw cartoon figures by tracing characters from comic strips and editorial cartoons. And following his passion for comics, he entered the nascent comics industry in the 1930s, drawing various comics features under different pen names, including Jack Curtiss, before ultimately settling on Jack Kirby. It was at Marvel, in collaborating with writer and editor-in-chief Stan Lee that Kirby hit his stride to the fullest in superhero comics, beginning with The Fantastic Four #1 (Nov. 1961).The landmark series became a hit that revolutionized the industry with its comparative naturalism and eventually, a cosmic preview generated by Kirby's boundless imagination. His artistic style was unique Jack Kirby has been referred to as the "superhero of style", his artwork described by John Carlin in Masters of American Comics as "deliberately primitive and bombastic". His contributions to the comic book form, including the many characters he created or co-created and the many genres he worked on have led to him being referred to as the definitive comic book artist. Given the number of places Kirby's artwork can now be found, the toys based on his designs and the success of the movies based upon his work, he was declared "one of the chief architects of the American imagination."

He was regarded as a hard working artist, and it has been calculated that he drew at least 20,318 pages of published art and a further 1,385 covers in his career. He published 1,158 pages in 1962 alone.Kirby has also created stories in almost every genre of comics, from the autobiographical Street code  to the apocalyptic science fiction fantasy of Kamandi. He is indeed the KING of comics.

And that is all for now,  this guys made a huge impact, pushing the boundaries and making dreams come alive with their work and talents. Even though they are not with us physically, they can rest wherever they are knowing how much life they had a positive impact on. So

Till next time don't stop the artist in you.
